Our Purpose
At West's Fibreglass, our goal is to be your go-to supplier for all your fibreglass and composite material needs and requirements. We are a ONE STOP FIBREGLASS SHOP, not only providing all the materials you need but also offering decades of expertise to help you with the design and calculations of your fibreglass projects, including layups, bonding, and finishing.
Located in beautiful Strand, we proudly serve a wide area, including Strand, Somerset West, Stellenbosch, and Gordon's Bay. We also extend our services to Hermanus, Gansbaai, and Mossel Bay, and even deliver to the Cape Metropole.
Our History
Established in November 1994 by Wessie & Diane van der Westhuizen, West's Fibreglass began in a small garage in Strand. What started as a part-time passion project quickly grew, and within a year, the business relocated to a larger space at 156 Main Road, which served as both our home and workshop. As demand for our fibreglass and resin products grew, the business eventually outgrew the house. After fifteen successful years, we moved to our current, dedicated premises.
Driven by a passion for the composites industry, our founder, Wessie, saw a need to make fibreglass supplies more accessible. He envisioned a shop that would not only support the industry but also cater to hobbyists and individuals with smaller projects. This commitment to providing quality products in manageable quantities remains at the core of our business philosophy today.
In 2022, Paul Heunis, a composites expert with over four decades of experience, partnered with West's Fibreglass. His extensive knowledge and skills are now a core part of our business, ensuring top-quality resin and fiberglass work.
